   Welcome to the online home of the Women's Metropolitan Golf Association.  2026 will be an exciting year as we celebrate our 91st year of providing a destination for competitive amateur women golfers. Our goal is to foster sportsmanship and create a great golfing experience for women of all ages in southeast Michigan.  

    We will be playing a 19-week schedule on Wednesdays in 2026, beginning the 1st Wednesday in May.    Our format is USGA rule-based stroke play, with the field broken into 4 flights based on USGA indexes.   The courses we play are spread throughout the metropolitan Detroit area and southeast Michigan.   Our roster of courses varies from year to year and includes some of the finest golfing venues in the area including Greystone, Eagle Crest, Twin Lakes and Pine Knob.   Each course is specially set up for our events to make the day challenging but fair for all the golfers.

   We also offer a three-week match play event; 32 members will play in 4 flights.  For those not in match play, stroke play is offered on the same dates.   Simultaneous competition in stroke and match play is not allowed.

   We offer both associate (10 week) and full (19 week) memberships.  All new members should have a current USGA index of 25.4.  We now offer a probationary membership for golfers with USGA indexes between 25.5 and 29.9.   This probationary membership can lead to a permanent membership in the organization after one year of play.  Golfers seeking membership without a USGA index must provide at least 3 scores to establish an index for membership.
